Michael started his commercial real estate finance career as an analyst at Commercial Capital Bank, and continued to focus on income property lending when it was acquired by Washington Mutual in 2006. After a year with WAMU, he was recruited by Countrywide Commercial Real Estate Finance to start their San Diego lending division. At Countrywide Commercial, Michael analyzed and originated conduit, portfolio and Fannie Mae loans for direct borrowers and brokers with loan amounts ranging from $1MM-$25MM. Working with the Capital Markets Group, he also participated in the securitization of loan pools and conducted asset reviews for B-piece buyers to facilitate the sale of commercial mortgage backed securities. He has a degree in real estate finance and business administration from San Diego State University. Michael is also an active investor in commercial and multifamily real estate.
Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children preferably in the great outdoors. His many hobbies include cars, mountain biking, skiing/snowboarding, camping and shooting sports. Michael and his wife are also involved in several local nonprofit organizations including the San Diego French American School.
